Nigeria has been declared Ebola free by the World Health Organization
(whoop whoops and moonwalks to reggae). Dr. Rui Dama Gaz, the WHO Country Representative in Nigeria, made this declaration today during a press conference.
The scare was really palpable during the crisis and when I think of how easily things could have spiraled out of control had it not been for divine providence which took the late Sawyer to the First Consultant Hospital and the bravery and assertiveness of the staff on duty as at the time of admission to the hospital, I shudder and thank God for how it all played out.

Rest in peace Dr. Ameyo Adadevoh. A true heroine, you were. |
I cannot appreciate enough, all those who lost their lives in the process of ensuring that this deadly virus did not spread. I appreciate those who volunteered to care for the infected victims. I appreciate all those who survived the ordeal. I appreciate and commend all Nigerians for coming together to tackle this disease and help put an end to it.
Good news is so rare these days so this is really worth celebrating. I really hope we won't let our guards down yet until we are sure the disease has been eradicated worldwide. I expect our government to be on top of their game in ensuring our borders are not left porous thus allowing the Ebola virus in a second time. Well done Nigerians, we deserve to celebrate. :)
