Armed Forces Remembrance Day

As always, today we especially remember our fallen heroes and those who keep striving to keep us safe from evils. In October last year, I wrote a tribute/post here about our fallen heroes and the depth of sacrifices they make for us. It is because of these special people that you and I are still able to go to bed safe and sound at night. They are the ones keeping Boko Haram at bay, away from us and our families. 

They have sacrificed so much for their jobs and they keep giving. I remember an advert back in the '80s about how Nigeria remembers her fallen heroes. The lyrics to the ad went like; 

Today we remember our fallen heroes... Nigeria remembers you.

You laid your life for a truly just cause... Nigeria remembers you.

We salute you for courage we adore that Nigeria may be one, strong united sovereign State... 

Nigeria remembers you.

That advert was so emotional, heartfelt and patriotic that it evoked deep feelings in all who heard it. Seeing the way things are now, I wonder if we can ever bring such feelings back. I hope we can regain Nigeria's lost glory.
