Oscar Pistorious, the South African Double-amputee athlete, has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's day in 2013. The judge, Thokozile Masipa handed him a 5-year prison sentence for culpable homicide and a 3-year sentence, which would run concurrently, for a firearms charge. He's been taken into his cell.
I think the sentencing is a bit weak for the obviously intended crime he committed. A family has been robbed of their daughter and sister by the same person she genuinely loved and all he gets is 5 years. I think a slight addition should be added to his prison sentence as I made clear here.
